Privacy Policy
The short version
Kite does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no analytics, no crash reporting, no account system, and no network connection. Everything you do in the app stays on your Mac.
What Kite does not collect
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
- Usage data, analytics, or behavioral data
- Crash logs or diagnostics sent to a remote server
- The content of any files you open or edit
- Location data
- Any other personal information
What Kite does
Kite is a local application. It reads and writes Markdown files that you open or save using standard macOS file access. All file activity happens entirely on your device. No content from your files is transmitted anywhere.
The Quick Look extension renders Markdown files formatted in Finder’s Quick Look panel. It does this locally, on your Mac, without accessing any network or external service.
Mac App Store purchases
Kite is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the purchase transaction and may collect information about it in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy. The developer does not receive your payment details or personal information as part of the transaction.
No third-party SDKs or trackers
Kite does not include any third-party analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or crash reporting services. There are no embedded frameworks that could transmit data to third parties.
Children’s privacy
Kite does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Because Kite collects no data at all, it does not present special risks for younger users.
Changes to this policy
If the app is updated in a way that changes how it handles data, this policy will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change.
